Torie is the founder and principal designer at Cherry Blossom Creative. A defense-industry-dropout turned creative-project-doer, Torie started Cherry Blossom Creative in 2012. She has designed for an array of clients including illustrations for The Washington Post, created a number of gorgeous logo’s such as the Taste of Georgetown, RareSweets, and 2Armadillos. Torie is a multi-talented maker and the creator of our popular neighborhood maps. She shies away from no medium or creative challenges and believes in working with your hands, finding meaning in your work, and doing whatever gives you joy.
Caitlin Leavitt began her time with us as an intern in January 2015. She became a full-time team member this past July. She joins us after receiving her Masters in Graphic Design at the Savannah School of Art and Design in May 2014. After completing the Cherry Blossom Creative Internship it was clear that her talent, exceptional eye for composition and creativity was going to be a wonderful addition to CBC. Caitlin has already lead the charge on full branding projects and, as our clients will tell you, absolutely crushed it. More to come on the CBC portfolio from this incredible designer, soon!
Michelle joined Cherry Blossom Creative in the summer of 2014, after graduating from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Graphic design. Michelle has an exceptional eye for detail and brings this into every one of her projects. She has already done outstanding work as lead designer on the USDA Farmers Market and the USDA Market at Night, and headed up an impressive collateral build out for the Embassy Row Hotel. She continues to sharpen and refine her skill set daily in the studio and pump out stellar work for our growing client base.
Devon became a Blossom in June of 2015. During her studies, she split her time between Helsinki, Copenhagen, and Boulder, Colorado leaving her with a distinct eye towards clean design. In the end, travel brought Devon back to her DC roots. She adopts a holistic approach with each project and believes that good design can make life better. Because of this, Devon has designed across many fields including architecture, graphic design, and editorial publications. Devon currently manages the expansion of Cherry Blossom Workshop products. If you have a design problem, Devon has a design solution, so bring it.
Director of Brand Strategy
Christine Mitchell joins us as the newest addition to Cherry Blossom Creative. Hailing from innovative powerhouses like José Andrés’, ThinkFoodGroup and Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, she brings a refreshing perspective to marketing and brand design. No stranger to start ups and reorgs, she comes with a diverse background in partnerships and strategy. A passion for food and drink is an understatement with this one. She makes it her business to be in the know of who’s who and who’s doing what around the city. Little known fact- this pint sized lady was a bouncer at the 9:30 club for 9 years! Watch out for this one, and WELCOME TO THE TEAM!
Creative professionals. We take the ‘professional’ part pretty seriously. We work hard because we love what we do. We’re makers. We have detail-oriented tendencies. Our job is to sweat the small stuff so you don’t have to.
WE BELIEVE IN:
Great working relationships that drive great work. The importance of handmade. Being on time. Taking your vision, adding spark to it, and knocking it out of the park. We believe in respecting your needs, budget, and timeframe. We like imagination paired with implementation.
