Taste of Georgetown Event Design

Project Description

Taste of Georgetown is Washington, D.C.’s most anticipated epicurean festival, which elebrated its 21st year with creative tastes from  35 of the neighborhood’s best restaurants, as well as an expansive Craft Beer and Wine Pavilion and live entertainment. For the first time in the event’s history, the Taste moved from Wisconsin Avenue to K Street, along the scenic Georgetown Waterfront, and Cherry Blossom Creative was asked to refresh their brand to honor this move to the new location.

The Style

Cherry Blossom Creative worked to incorporate the pre-existing Georgetown brand, which was emblematic of delicate, swirling wrought iron, to the refreshed brand for the Taste of Georgetown. We also wanted to bring in the style of a modern festival, with type that looked like classic circus lettering. The colors were chosen from Georgetown’s core color palette, combined with a bright teal for the festival itself.

Collateral for this piece included designing posters, postcards, event banners and directional signage, and print and web ads. We even had an ad on the side of a Circulator bus!
