Wangari Gardens is a growing community garden and education center, nestled on a triangle of unused green space between the Washington Hospital Center and the Park View neighborhood of Washington, DC. Last year, Wangari approached Cherry Blossom Creative about coming up with a colorful brand identity to launch during their Kickstarter. As Wangari has a fruit tree orchard, we made a persimmon tree in the shape of DC, using the river and waterfront as the tree branches. Not to toot our own horn, but Popville may have suggested this was “the greatest District-based logo“.
